Galleri lille Kabelvåg is a gallery in the little town Kabelvåg in Lofoten, Norway. The gallery is central placed at the square close to the sea.
In the summertime the gallery shows art by Thor Erdahl and Inger Anne Nyaas, who owns and pursue the gallery. In addition to them one or more guest artist gets the chance to show some of their work. When the tourist session is ended the gallery shows other artists, directors and musicians. The gallery then aims to bee a part of the local community’s culture events.
Thor Erdahl paintings and graphic combine clear roots in Lofoten`s landscape and culture. Shapes from nature, mountains, boats, houses and people are often combined and used as motives in his pictures. Thor Erdahl has also decorated "Kabelvåg torg" (Central marketplace) and glass-paintings in the university in Tromsø.
Inger Anne Nyaas is a textile artist, but she has also worked with other materials, like plastic bags. In a work she has folded them to various forms. Some of her textile works is for daily use, like the dishcloth.
In the autumn/winter Galleri lille Kabelvåg is open Saturday and Sunday from 12.00- 15.00.
It cost 30 norwegian kroner to enter Galleri lille Kabelvåg.
